Candidate bill of rights
Last updated: October 2026
If you take an Aethel interview, these are your rights, and this is exactly how to use each one. Where we do not have a button yet, we tell you and give you the email route instead.
1. Know you are talking to an AI
The interviewer is an AI, not a person. We say so on our site, in the interview guide, and on the interview screen, where the interviewer is labeled "AI interviewer". Before a saved interview starts, we show you what will be collected and ask for your consent.
How to do it
Nothing to do. Read how the AI interview and scoring work before you start if you want the details.
2. See your own results
You see your results yourself. Your results page shows your scores, the quotes from your answers behind each score, a short summary, feedback on your answers, and your full transcript with each quote marked. Areas your answers did not cover say "not enough evidence" instead of showing a low score.
How to do it
Sign in and choose "View your results" on your home page.
4. Get a copy of your data
You can get a copy of the data we hold about you: one file with your profile, every interview and its full transcript, your results and feedback, your consent records, and who you shared results with.
How to do it
Sign in and choose "Download my data" on your home page, your profile page, or a results page. Or email support@aethel.pro with the subject "Copy of my data" from the email address on your account, and we will send you a copy within 30 days.
5. Correct your information
You can fix your profile details yourself: your name, headline, field, specialty, location, links, phone number, skills, work history, education, and projects.
How to do it
Sign in, open your profile page, and edit the details.
To change the email address on your account, email support@aethel.pro with the subject "Change my email".
Nobody can edit a transcript or a score from the website, including you, so that results stay as they were recorded. If speech recognition wrote down something you did not say, or you think a score is wrong, ask for a review (right 7).
Changes to your profile do not change results a company already received.
6. Delete your data
You can delete your data at any time, for free. This deletes your sign-in account, your profile, your interview records (transcripts and results), your applications, and your notifications. Companies you interviewed with through a link lose access to those results.
How to do it
Sign in, open your profile page, find "Delete my data", type DELETE, and confirm. It happens right away. Or email support@aethel.pro with the subject "Delete my data" from the email address on your account, and we delete it within 30 days.
We keep a short record that you asked for deletion, for up to 24 months, so we can show the request was handled. Where a service provider received your interview data, we ask them to delete it too. If a company already downloaded your results, or received them in its own systems, that copy is the company's, so ask the company to delete it too. See what gets deleted in our privacy policy.
7. Ask a person to review your result
If you think your result is wrong, we read your transcript and your scores and tell you what we found. A person at Aethel replies within 2 business days.
How to do it
Open your results and choose "Ask for a review". Pick what looks wrong and add any details. Or email support@aethel.pro with the subject "Human review", and tell us which interview and what you think is wrong.
What a review can change today: we cannot edit a stored score by hand. If the review finds a problem, we tell you what we found. If the problem was on our side, we can give you a free retake that does not count toward your 3 retakes. You can also retake the interview yourself (right 9).
8. Ask for accommodations
Some things are built in, for everyone:
- Type every answer instead of speaking. You never need a microphone.
- No camera needed. If you turn it on, it only shows you a preview of yourself.
- No timer on your answers. Take the time you need to think.
- If you speak, your words appear as text first, so you can check and fix them before you send.
How to do it
For anything else, or if you would prefer not to be assessed by AI, send us a message or email support@aethel.pro with the subject "Accommodation" before you start and tell us what would help. We will talk through the options with you.
If a company sent you the interview link, that company decides whether to offer another way to be assessed, such as a conversation with a person. You can ask them directly too.
Interviews run in English only today.
9. Appeal a result
There is no separate appeal form. This is the path today, in order:
- Ask for a human review (right 7). We read your transcript and scores. A person at Aethel replies within 2 business days.
- Retake the interview. You can retake it up to 3 times from your results page. Your newest result replaces the one before it. If an interview was cut short by a technical problem, such as the video interviewer not connecting or the time running out, your results page offers a free retake that does not count toward that limit. If it does not, ask for a review and tell us what happened.
- Talk to the company about its decision. Aethel does not make hiring decisions and does not reject anyone automatically. The company's team decides, so questions about a decision go to them.
- Delete your results (right 6) if you no longer want them to exist.
10. Have people make the decision
AI scores help a company's team review an interview. They do not decide anything. Aethel never rejects or advances a candidate on its own, and does not message you about a company's decision. The company's team reads your answers and decides.
Your rights under local law
Depending on where you live, you may have more rights under local law. Tell us where you are when you write to us, and we will help. A person at Aethel replies within 2 business days.
You can also stop non-essential emails at any time. Write to us with "Unsubscribe" in the subject, as the email preferences page explains.
