For hiring teams
Check an Aethel result
A candidate sent you a result from Aethel. This page explains what it is, what the scores mean, and how to check that it is real.
Check a verification code
The code has 12 letters and numbers, like ABCD-EFGH-JKMN. It is on the candidate's PDF or in their message. You will see Aethel's own record of that result.
Got a link instead? Open it. A share link shows the full result, with the transcript, on aethel.pro.
What Aethel is
Aethel runs AI interviews for experts and for the companies that hire them.
After an interview, the candidate sees their result first and decides who else can see it. You have this result because the candidate chose to share it with you, or took the interview through your company's own interview link.
Aethel does not recommend, rank or screen out candidates. People make hiring decisions.
How the AI interview works
- The interviewer is an AI, not a person. It is shown as a realistic video avatar, and the candidate is told it is an AI before starting.
- It asks about the candidate's real work: projects they did, decisions they made and problems they solved. Follow-up questions build on their answers.
- The candidate answers by speaking or typing. An interview is designed to take about 15 minutes.
- Aethel keeps a written transcript. It does not record video or audio.
- The interview is not proctored. Aethel does not watch the candidate's screen, keystrokes or other tabs, so it cannot rule out outside help.
Read how interviews work, or see a sample result with a made-up candidate.
What the scores mean
- After the interview, an AI reads the transcript and looks for evidence in four areas for the candidate's field, such as problem solving or communication.
- An area gets a score from 1 to 100 only when the AI can quote the candidate's own words for it. Aethel's server checks that every quote appears in the candidate's answers, and the quotes are shown with each score.
- "Not scored" or "Not enough evidence" means the interview did not cover that area. It is not a low score.
- The overall score is the average of the scored areas. It is given only when at least 2 areas have evidence.
- Only the words of the answers are scored. Never the candidate's face, video, voice, tone, accent, or how fast they answer.
What a result does not tell you
- It is not a hiring recommendation or a ranking against other candidates. People make hiring decisions.
- It is not a certification. Aethel does not check identity documents, degrees, licenses or work history.
- It describes one interview of about 15 minutes. Aethel has not tested whether results predict job performance.
- The AI can misread an answer, and the same answers scored twice can get somewhat different numbers. That is why every score shows its quotes.
- Aethel's own internal test on made-up interviews, which is not an audit, found that non-native English grammar lowered the scores of strong and average answers by about 2 points out of 100, and this is not fixed yet. No independent bias audit has been done.
- Interviews and scoring work in English only.

How to check that a result is real
A share link
Opens the full result on aethel.pro: the transcript, the scores and the quotes behind them. Check that the address starts with aethel.pro/r/. The page shows Aethel's own record. The candidate cannot edit the scores, the quotes or the transcript.
A verification code
Twelve letters and numbers, like ABCD-EFGH-JKMN. Enter it above, or open aethel.pro/v/ followed by the code. The check shows the candidate's first name and last initial, the field, the interview date, the area scores, and whether the result changed since the code was made. It never shows the transcript.
A PDF or a screenshot
A copy the candidate made. If it has a verification code, check the code, then compare the name, field, date and scores with the copy. If it has no code, or it is a screenshot, ask the candidate for a link or a code.
A check shows that Aethel holds this result and whether it changed. It does not prove who took the interview: Aethel confirms the candidate's email address but does not check ID, so the name is the one on the candidate's Aethel account.
