Your data
What we do with your data, in plain words
What we do
- Save your profile, interview transcript, and scores so you can read them.
- Send your transcript to our AI provider, OpenAI, to produce your scores.
- Use our video provider, currently Beyond Presence, to show the interviewer on video. It never receives your camera.
- Keep interview records for up to 24 months.
- Delete your account and interview records whenever you choose, from your profile page. We keep a short record that the deletion happened.
What we never do
- Sell your interviews, or use them to train AI models.
- Record your screen or log your keystrokes.
- Require a camera.
- Make the hiring decision. The company’s team does.

Questions people ask
Is the interviewer a real person?
No. The interviewer is an AI, and we tell you that before you start. It asks about your real work and follows up on what you say. People at the hiring company make any hiring decision.
Is it free for experts?
Yes. Applying, interviewing, and reading your results are free for experts. Companies pay for Aethel.
Does taking the interview get me a job?
Not by itself. Applying does not guarantee a role, an introduction, or paid work. A company sees your result when you take the interview through its own link, when you share your result with it, or when you choose to list your profile on Find experts.
Who sees my results?
You see your results first. A company sees an interview only if you took it through that company's interview link, or chose to share a recent one there. Anyone else sees a result only through a share link or a PDF verification code you make. If you turn on your Find experts profile, anyone can see your name, field, specialty, and the area scores from the attempt that represents you, but never your transcript or contact details. You can turn off a share link, a code, or your Find experts profile at any time.
Can I retake the interview?
Yes. You can retake the interview up to 3 times from your results page. Your earlier results stay: each one is an attempt you keep, and you choose which attempt represents you. If a technical problem cut an interview short, your results page offers a free retake that does not count toward the 3. If it does not, ask for a review. An interview taken through a company's link is taken once.
How are scores made?
After the interview, an AI model reads your transcript. It scores an area only when your own words support it, and every score shows the quotes behind it. If there is not enough evidence for an area, it says so instead of guessing.
What do companies pay?
Companies choose a monthly plan, starting at $49 a month. The pricing page lists what each plan includes. Experts never pay.
Do I need a camera or microphone?
You do not need a camera. You can type every answer. If you would rather speak, you will need a microphone.
