Terms of Service
Last updated: October 2026
These terms explain the rules for using Aethel, as an expert taking an interview or as a company reviewing candidates. We have kept them as short and plain as we can.
1. What Aethel is
Aethel runs AI video interviews for experts and gives hiring teams a written assessment of each interview. By creating an account or using Aethel, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy.
2. Your account
- You must be 18 or older.
- Give accurate information about yourself and your work.
- Keep your sign-in details safe. You are responsible for activity on your account.
- One person per expert account. Company accounts may be used by the company's own team.
3. For experts
- Aethel is free for experts.
- Answer in your own words. Do not have another person, or another AI tool, answer for you.
- You own your answers. You allow Aethel to store and process them to run your interview, show you your results, and share them as described in our Privacy Policy.
- You decide who sees your results. A company sees them when you take the interview through that company's link.
- You can retake the interview a limited number of times. You can delete your data at any time from your profile page, or ask us to.
4. For companies
- Use Aethel results as one input to your own review. Your team makes the hiring decision.
- You are responsible for following the employment, anti-discrimination, privacy, and AI hiring laws that apply to you, including any notices, consents, audits, or other ways to be assessed that they require. Aethel has not done a bias audit and does not send notices for you.
- If a candidate asks you to delete their interview, remove their result from your account (open it and use "Remove this result"), and delete any copies you downloaded or received in your own systems.
- Use candidate information only to evaluate candidates for your roles. Keep it confidential, and do not sell it or share it outside your hiring team.
- Do not use Aethel to discriminate against anyone.
Details of what the AI does and does not do are on How Aethel uses AI. A plain summary of AI hiring laws, and notice text you can give candidates, is on For companies.
5. About AI results
Interview questions, scores, and summaries are written by AI. They can be wrong or incomplete, and they describe only what was said in one interview. They are not a guarantee of anyone's skills, and they do not make hiring decisions. A candidate can ask for a review of a result with "Ask for a review" on their results page, or by emailing support@aethel.pro. We reply within 2 business days. Replies come from Aethel's AI support assistant.
6. Payments
Company plans are paid through Stripe at the prices shown on our pricing page. Billing, cancellation, and refunds are explained in our Payment Policy. If a company and an expert agree to work together, the terms of that work are between them.
7. Things you may not do
- Pretend to be someone else, or take an interview for someone else.
- Try to trick or manipulate the AI interviewer or its scoring.
- Copy, scrape, or resell Aethel content or candidate data.
- Break, overload, or try to get around the security of the service.
- Use Aethel for anything unlawful or harmful.
We may suspend or close accounts that break these rules.
8. Ownership
Aethel owns the service, including its software, design, and brand. You keep ownership of what you put into Aethel, such as your profile and your answers.
9. Our responsibility and disputes
We work hard to keep Aethel accurate and available, but we provide it "as is" and cannot promise it will always be error-free or uninterrupted. Hiring, contracting, and payment obligations between companies and experts belong to those parties. To the extent the law allows, Aethel is not liable for indirect or consequential losses. To the extent permitted by law, disputes relating to these terms will be resolved through binding arbitration in Delaware, except where applicable law requires another forum.
10. Ending your use
You can stop using Aethel at any time and ask us to delete your data. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, and we will tell you why unless the law or safety prevents it.
11. Changes and contact
When we change these terms, we update the date at the top of this page. Continuing to use Aethel after a change means you accept the updated terms. Questions: support@aethel.pro.
